Estey Family Vineyard Inc.

Nestled at the Foothills of the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains is the beautiful County of Amador and home to our Family Vineyard and Winery.

Estey Family Vineyards is located on 160 acres of land that has been in the family for over 100 years. In 1914, Elmer Barney won the 160 acre ranch in a lucky hand of poker. Elmer gave the land as a wedding gift to his daughter Ruth and her new husband William Estey in 1936.  Estey Family Vineyards is formerly known in the family as the Estey Family Ranch.  Ruth and William spent their lives raising cattle and their children on their family ranch. After Ruth’s passing in 2001, grandson Will Estey obtained the family ranch.

The Estey family spent several years developing land and building homes. When the economy took a turn in 2008 and building slowed down, Will decided to try his hand in the wine making business. Will is very passionate about his property and it shows through his attention to detail in every glass of hand bottled wine. Will uses old style wine making techniques to produce each bottle of our tasteful wines. With help from the whole family our grapes are handpicked each season. Wills dream is that his children and grandchildren continue to share his passion for the family land and winemaking. Every bottle of our wine is filled with passion and history. We invite you to be a part of our family history by enjoying a bottle of our family wine.
